In March 2007, Royal Gorge LLC (the Foster-Syme group) unveiled their vision for a huge transformation of Donner Summit with four separate camp-themed developments. Their plans include 600+ "shared ownership" condominiums, two hotels, employee housing, hundreds of home sites (for a total of around 1,000 residential units), retail stores, a new downhill resort linked to Sugar Bowl, and two artificial lakes. Most of the development will be right in the middle of currently pristine forest and meadow areas. This map was included in the documents made public in January 08 through the intervention of the Union newspaper.
