Opinion: Royal Gorge LLC. requests bailout from Serene Lakes homeowners!

Royal Gorge requests bailout from Serene Lakes homeowners or anyone who is interested in ruining our environment ...
They're trying all sorts of PR blitzes to see which sticks, sound familiar?
Recently, a certain owner
wanted it leaked out by a couple of "concerned citizens" that if we continue this fight against development,
Royal Gorge will cease to exist.
This is meant to be a threat; hence, decrease our home value, anarchy, war, disintegration, Armageddom ..., a little exaggerated,
but you get the picture. They truly believe they are our savior.
What are they saving us from? Talk about a Messiah complex!
If they're trying to save us from home devaluation, I'd say they're a little late,
unless of course, they want to take credit for it.
RG also threatened that if they can't develop they will be forced to parcel out the land to sell,
I say good luck! Or, like a little child throwing a tantrum,
they're threatening to fence off R.G. so no-one can come and play on their land. Boo, hoo, hoo!.
Here's the clincher: they can save us if we can make a deal to lessen the development to let's say 300 homes.
Again, RG is dealing with a PR scare tactic that doesn't make sense.
Let's deal with a few facts and simple logic he forgets to mention, keep in mind this is nothing new,
it's been rehashed ad-nauseum:
Donner summit (Serene Lakes residents and all) existed before Royal Gorge and can survive after Royal Gorge.
We are not responsible to ensure their success. If their business plan is flawed, then I say get in line with the Automakers to
ask for a government bail out.
For sake of argument, who benefits from this... let's see I have to think hard about this one, would it be the developers and investors?
If they're requesting to build 900 homes or less in the middle of ski trails, logically speaking, doesn't that minimize the cross-country ski trails,
and make it less attractive for cross-country skiers for a myriad of different reasons?
The reason most residents bought in Serene Lakes was for the beauty and serenity and because it is NOT an overdeveloped ski resort like Squaw or Incline Village.
Granted there is a small number that bought because of R.G., but I believe that is the minority.
So the argument that no-one will come and buy because R.G. no longer exists is flawed, I'll restate, we existed before them and can exist
without them.
How does development help us? Let's see there's added traffic, pollution, crime, noise pollution, and yes, there's that little thing called increased fire hazard to name a few.
Since they believe they're our savior, can they truly turn grass into water? Can they click their heels and wish a 2nd egress?
Like I always say, "Don't believe what they say, believe what they do!" I don't need to rehash their PR lies.
So, what is the simple moral solution to this? WALK AWAY. Donate it to the Land Trust.
If average Americans during this economic downturn can walk away from property where their mortgages turned upside down with nothing,
R/G can walk away and still have millions.
Don't be greedy when so many people have lost. Your problems are not our problems!
Let's deal with logic and facts, not spin, or leaking information to test the waters...
