Sierra Watch/Sierra Club Conservation Report

Sierra Watch and Sierra Club released a joint report; Donner Summit: Conservation Assessment and Planning Principles.

The report taps local knowledge and planning expertise to build a compelling case for conservation on Donner Summit. It’s an important step in the long-term effort to defend and protect one of the Sierra’s threatened iconic landscapes. Its findings are clear:

1. Donner Summit is a treasured Sierra landscape of immense value.

2. Donner Summit lacks the adequate infrastructure and community support for large-scale development.

Looking forward, the report offers a set of Planning Principles to guide future decisions on conservation and development on Donner Summit.

A copy of the report is on this site. It is 22 pages (1.4meg). Click here to see our copy, or you can click here to go to the SIERRA WATCH.org site.
